What is a Poetic Movement?
A poetic movement is a group of poets who have unifying qualities in all of their works whether it be the style in which critiqued hey write or the time period they come from. A movement or school is defined either by the group of poets or an outside critic who sees the unifying qualities. Poetic Movements are usually not defined in the time period when they are relevant, but later when an outside source has critiqued. Writing in the same form, i.e. Free Verse does not make a group of poets a movement or school.
